Step One: Look through our Blacktail Portfolio and select a canvas (photograph) that best "show cases" the set of antlers that you are going to use. Paying close attention to horn position, choose a pose that emphasizes the strong points of your antlers. When selecting a canvas remember that they can be reversed. This means that a buck facing to the right can be flipped and easily become a buck facing to the left.

Re-Creations can also be made by merging a shoulder mount with an existing photo. This method greatly increases the number of possibilities and usable canvas's, because matching the exact head position is not as important. This method also makes it easier to take he necessary photos.

Some of our customers make their selection based on horn position, while others make their selection on the canvas as a whole. When making your selection take into consideration elements such as landscape, lighting, presentation, and the location where the finished "Trophy Re-creation" will be displayed.

Unfortunately not every canvas is compatible with every set of horns. For that reason we reserve the right of final approval. If you have difficulty deciding on a canvas, we would be glad to give you our recommendations.

Our goal is to ensure that your final "ALIVE AGAIN Trophy Re-creation" is as realistic as possible and something you will be proud to own.

Step Two: Print a copy of the canvas that you have selected. For the best results then position your mount, or antlers, in the same position as the bucks antlers on the canvas. Be very careful to not obstruct the antlers with hands, ears, or other objects. If this is not possible, we can still recreate your trophy, however there may be an additional charge due to extra work required.

In many cases we can even recreate ear notches and other distinguishing characteristics.

We can also create an "ALIVE AGAIN Trophy Re-creation" from an old "one of a kind photo"or a recent "field photo". Just scan the photo at a high resolution and send it to us. We will then select several canvas that will work with your picture for you to choose from.

If your buck is already at the taxidermist it makes taking the pictures even easier. Just hold the horns by the skull cap, position the antlers accordingly, and take photos.

Accurate lighting is important for a truly "life like" re-creation. Neutrally lighted photos, with a tan or gray background, taken outdoors, out of direct sunlight, work best. If the canvas you have chosen has sunlight glinting off or the antlers, you can try to re-create the effect, but if you can't, we can add it later.

Once you have the antlers positioned and the proper lighting and background take a few digital photos. The more we have to choose from the better chance we have of creating an accurate "living" representation of your trophy. This sounds like a complicated process but it is not. In most cases it will take less than a half an hour of your time.

Step Three: Email us a high resolution digital photo, or scanned copy of your field photo, and the number of the canvas(es) you are interested in. Once we receive your email we will let you know if the combination is compatible. In most cases the emailed photos are of a high enough quality to be used on your trophy recreation but in some cases we may require that the photos be sent to us on a disc.

Once we receive your photo we will begin the process of creating your "ALIVE AGAIN TROPHY". We can either create a straight forward "photograph" of your buck, or we can artistically enhance it with one of our custom effects. Our custom effects are guaranteed to add a whole new dimension to your re-creation. Some of our effects are subtle, some are more noticeable, but no matter which you choose they are guaranteed to make your "ALIVE AGAIN Trophy Re-creation" a one of a kind work of art.

Step Four: Once we have completed the project you will be emailed a proof. For a small additional fee we can create multiple proofs for you to choose from. Your finished "Alive Again Trophy" will then be mounted in a beautifully matted frame and mailed directly to your door. Generally our turn around time is one week but this may vary.

"ALIVE AGAIN" reserves the rights to all Trophy Re-creations and may use them in other applications such as calendars, greeting cards, advertisements, etc.

Digital "rights" image CD'S can also be purchased of your "ALIVE AGAIN TROPHY", allowing you exclusive rights.

Custom Work.

It is also possible to combine multiple canvases in order to get the exact look you are searching for. If you see a buck in one of our canvases that emphasizes the important features of your antlers, but the background is not one you like, choose another canvas with an appropriate background and we will combine the two. ALIVE AGAIN TROPHIES is looking to expand or portfolio.

In the future we hope to expand to other species of North American horned and antlered game animals. We hope to soon add, Mule deer, Pronghorn Antelope, Elk, Whitetail, and their various subspecies to our portfolio, so we are always in search of quality photos of these animals.

Even though we have many blacktail photos we are still looking for Washington, British Columbian and Alaska Blacktail photos to add to our portfolio. These photos do not need to be of trophy class animals but they do need to be clear, high quality, digital photos that accurately represent the area.

What you get for your contribution:

• Your photo will be added to our portfolio, and your website address and "photo credit" will be listed under your submission.
  
• Your name, website address, and two samples of your work will also be added to our "contributors section".
• Your name and website address will be included with every re-creation "Alive Again Trophies" sends out.
• If a trophy re-creation is made from one of your photos, your name, and website address, will be attached to the final product. Your business card will also be included in the package.
• If you submit seven or more photos that are used in our portfolio you will also received a free "ALIVE AGAIN Trophy Re-creation"

Some of the most positive feed back we have gotten has come from taxidermists who see our re-creations as another product to offer their customers. With a small amount of set up, they are in the position to easily take digital photos of a clients antlers. Taxidermy mounting stands make it easy to position the horns perfectly.
